Pyogenic Granuloma

Background

Pyogenic granuloma in darker-skinned individuals presents as a small, red, raised, and often friable lesion that can appear on the skin following minor trauma or irritation. These growths are typically found on the hands, face, or arms and can be more noticeable against darker skin tones due to their bright color. Treatment options include surgical excision that is sent for histopathology, laser therapy, or cryotherapy to remove the lesion, and in some cases, topical or intralesional corticosteroids may be used to reduce size or recurrence.
