Pityriasis Rosacea

Background

Pityriasis rosea in darker-skinned individuals often presents as gray, violet, or dark brown patches, rather than the typical pink or red seen in lighter skin. It is a self limiting skin conditions that usually resolves even without treatment. Treatment typically involves antihistamines or topical corticosteroids to reduce itching, and in some cases, light therapy is used to help fade hyperpigmentation and speed up recovery.
