Lichen Planus

Background

Lichen planus in darker-skinned individuals often appears as purplish, gray, or dark brown flat-topped bumps, which can be more pronounced due to the skin’s natural pigmentation. The condition may lead to long-lasting hyperpigmentation, even after the lesions resolve. Treatment options include topical corticosteroids, oral medications like corticosteroids or retinoids, and light therapy to control symptoms and minimize pigmentation changes.
