Lipoma
Background
Lipomas in darker-skinned individuals are soft, movable, and usually painless fatty lumps that develop under the skin, typically on the upper arms, back, or thighs. These benign growths are often flesh-colored or slightly yellowish, and while they are generally asymptomatic, they can sometimes grow large enough to cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns. Treatment options include surgical removal for larger or bothersome lipomas, and liposuction or steroid injections may also be used to reduce the size or number of the lumps.
