Scabies

Background

Scabies in darker-skinned individuals may present with more pronounced nodules, especially around the wrists, fingers, and genitals, which can be mistaken for other skin conditions. The rash and burrows may be harder to visualize, but intense itching, especially at night, is a common symptom. Treatment involves topical scabicides like permethrin cream or oral ivermectin, and addressing potential secondary infections from scratching.
