Stasis Dermatitis
Background
Stasis dermatitis in darker-skinned individuals typically presents as swelling, darkening of the skin, and scaly patches on the lower legs due to poor circulation. The skin may also develop ulcers or become itchy and thickened, with noticeable pigmentation changes around the affected area. Treatment includes compression therapy to improve circulation, topical corticosteroids to reduce inflammation, and moisturizers to prevent dryness, along with addressing the underlying venous insufficiency.
