Contact Dermatitis (Contact Eczema)
Contact dermatitis in darker-skinned individuals can cause redness, swelling, and darker patches of skin where the irritant or allergen made contact. The affected area may also become dry, itchy, or form blisters, sometimes leading to post-inflammatory pigmentation changes. Treatment involves identifying and avoiding the trigger, using topical corticosteroids to reduce inflammation, and applying emollients to repair the skin barrier.
