Seborrheic Dermatitis (Seborrheic Eczema)

Background

Seborrheic dermatitis in darker-skinned individuals often causes scaly patches and redness that may appear darker or lighter than the surrounding skin. It can affect the scalp, face, and other oily areas, sometimes leading to temporary changes in pigmentation. Treatment includes medicated shampoos containing ingredients like ketoconazole or selenium sulfide, as well as antifungal creams an topical steroids to reduce inflammation and flaking.
